Delaware Unemployment for Youth

The Delaware Unemployment rate is down from over 8% in 2008, but is still over 6% as of December 2012. However youth unemployment, especially during the summer months seems to be rising steadily. It hit an alarming 19.5 million in 2012. Plans are underway for the 3rd SPEAK Youth Collaborative Summer Business Internship Program. Use Your Gifts this Christmas Season

Are you great with children? To earn some extra cash for the holidays, you might consider babysitting for a few families in your neighborhood while they go out Christmas shopping. If you are not low on cash, then consider offering to babysit for a couple of single moms while they go shop for gifts for their little ones. Are you master gift wrapper? You might consider putting out flyers that offer your gift wrapping services for a fee. If you are not low on cash, then consider offering to wrap gifts for a couple of busy single moms. This will help lighten their load this Christmas season.
